This guy Michael Norman called today from Detroit Distributions asking if we made shower gels, because he distributes to hundreds of Mom and Pops. Apparently he's targeting the beauty industry now. Thanks google!

He's still doing it. 7/3/13 he contacted our home goods company looking for samples. The internet must be slowing him down because he's moving into different industries to get free stuff.

He is now hitting up artists via a trade magazine. I have reported him and they will hopefully be doing a mass email out with a warning. If you have away to warn people take a bit of time to do it. Let's shut him down!

This guy is 100 percent a con artist and he's pretty good at it. He pretends to get angry when I question him about his business and threatens to call my company to go higher up the chain of command. He's likely eating free delicious samples every day due to unsuspecting companies who will take someones word that they are a legit business. Problem for us is, there isn't anything illegal about what he's doing. If we are dumb enough to feed him then so be it.He doesn't remember 2 to 3 months later when he calls back that I shut him down the first time. Now I tell him his samples are on it's way to his door. Best part is--they won't ever show up and he'll keep calling me wondering where they are.Have fun with this crook. Don't just hang up on him.

Michael Norman left me a message looking for free copies of Jewish studies books, claiming he sells hundreds of units to 36 Jewish fundraising groups. Glad I googled him before sending out the books.

Just got a second call from him a few months apart, asking for samples of all of our SKUs because he sells to 350+ mom and pop stores. Annoys me that he's still at it. Don't send! Not legit.

Was just about to send a catalogue with some samples. Thank you all. Strangest thing, he never answers his phone. I always get his voicemail.

He called yesterday and said he had seen our ad in a trade magazine for craft galleries. He said he distributes to 300 galleries and wanted our spec sheets. I told him we did not have "spec sheets" as we are artists and most pieces are one of a kind with small editions of of similar pieces. He was annoyed with my response and asked me to "just send him some stuff". We do have gallery packs that contain promotional info on the art work, but I will not be sending that to him. He also called another artist who is a friend of ours with the same requests.

He is not legit at all. He calls every few months and spews a bunch of bull like the bull he spat out on his voice mail this very morning, "I saw that you've called three times, and I'm so sorry that it has taken me so long to return your call. As you recall, we spoke about you sending samples so here's my address and phone number." This has been going on for TWO YEARS. Before I caught onto him, I sent him three different sample packs because he kept calling to say he never got them. Once I realized that his address is a detached residential garage, his number is not listed, and he never answers phone calls, I wrote him off as a scammer. However, he STILL calls every couple of months as though we've never spoken before, and guess what he wants? He wants free samples, and he DOESN'T want to give any specifics about who he is or what he's doing with them.

I'm so glad that you were saved the trouble and the money! I wish there was a way to get the word out there, or better yet, a way to make him stop. He is scum and is taking advantage of everyone he possibly can! Michael Norman with Detroit Distribution is fake.
