Funny, Torrie … the girl I demanded my check back from said a similar thing about McDonald's. Is that part of the company line? Here's what happened to me with Nation's Top Sales:I purchased a magazine subscription on the understanding it was going to a children's hospital. After reading bad reports about them online and getting a text from my neighbor asking if I had told the two salespeople he was cool and would definitely give them money (I said no such thing), I walked down the street about 10 minutes later to get my money back.I was told by the girl who sold me the subscription that it WAS AGAINST THE LAW to give me back my check. I explained that was not the case, she held her ground and I called the sheriff's department. They tried to leave before deputies arrived despite me telling them the dispatcher wanted them to stay put.Long story short, the deputies got there as they were getting in their van, stopped them, asked what was going on and made them give me back my check. They also determined they had no permit to solicit in the neighborhood and one of the salespeople had "lost his ID." The deputies sent them packing.Quick recap of the lies I was told:1. The girl said she was doing it to raise money for college and win a trip overseas, but a Facebook check showed she's been doing Nation's Top Sales work since 2011. 2. She said she walked to the area, but they left in a van. 3. She said signing the receipt was a binding legal contract. In fact, it was not. She was holding my personal property against my wishes. (Don't try to this on someone with legal knowledge.) She even said giving back the check would BE A CRIME. Sheesh.4. Told multiple neighbors I sent them to their door and that they were "cool."So nice try, company shill. You're the ONE person on the Internet defending this company against everyone who's ever bought something from them.
The young man who sold me the subscription for a children's hospital, Batson Children's Hospital, Jackson, MS said he had been in the military, said he had been injured. Right after he left it did not feel right. He saw my doormat which reads "SHALOM" and then said he had been to the rabbi's home, saying the rabbi had given money. He also named several neighbors who had given money. I asked the minimum amount of money I could giveand he said $44 which seems a bit high. After he left I saw that only covers six issues. That seems really a highamount for only six issues. He had said that we had given a couple years ago. I am tempted to cancel but then ama bit concerned that this man would target me or something. Who knows? He asked if I was a nurse, saying if I wasa nurse he would get 10 extra points? Is it possible to get check cancelled other than calling the bank?
Nations Top Sales is operating in Deer Park, Texas today - April 11, 2015. The young man, Jon Garcia, is very charismatic and has an easy way about him. After a long sales spiel in which he tells me about hi9mself and his family, he shows me the "prices" of the magazines that are sent to service women/men or I could have chosen another list that would go to children in hospitals. I tell him to wait and I go look up the company and HIM on the internet. His Facebook page is full of sexual referenced photos, some of it pretty nasty stuff. The BBB shows that Nations Top Sales has a "F" rating. Other websites show pretty much the same thing. So I go tell him that I do not want to contribute and he gets really upset. Really, really upset but he did not curse, he was able to hold his anger in although his face was really red and he was kicking the air when he walked away.
There were in Denton TX on April 14. I was suspicious when they mentioned how my neighbor across the street had bought a subscription for a children's magazine for a children's hospital. The young man told me he had a son and showed the photo of his son and his picture as a child without my asking to see either. It just felt strange. The girl called her "manager" about a magazine I was interested in to ask a question about it. I felt that $59 was too much for a one-year subscription but I fell for it too. I stopped my check. I was a 32 lesson in gullibility.
I fell for it. Should I turn I'm the notice of cancellation or do a stop payment? Will I be penalized for doing either one?
You're a liar I do this for 9 years I know exactly what it is you're an immature probably still doing this doped-up nothing
They're in Hattiesburg, MS pulling this scam just as described!! One came to my door and was just as you described. I have alerted police and WDAM TV about.
They tried above on me in Hattiesburg MS . I got suspicious after listening a while and realized what guy was saying didn't make sense. They follow similar script. When you ask too many questions they get very defensive and try to make you think there's something wrong with you!! Glad l notified police and our local news. Hope these crooks get caught soon. They are con artists.
I bought a magazine subscription from this girl walking door to door trying to raise money for children's hospital. This was on 4-14-17 in Madisonville, La. The invoice is from Nation's Top Sales, LLC. I just tried calling to check on my order and the number in not available it says. After reading about this now, I realize it is a SCAM!!!!
