I normally don't answer these, but as of recently, i've caught up on all bills and such that would be calling to collect a debt. I answered quietly and it was a lady saying she was from a research group on behalf of Michigan Gas Utilities to do some research and if I had a few minutes. I hung up. Gonna find out who at MGU is giving out phone numbers, because i'm pissed.

Someone using this number called, when I answered there seemed to be there cut I said "hello" twice and no one said a thing. I hung up. If it was a collector they would not only answer but keep you on the line for as long as it took.

Yes. The caller claimed to represent Document Delivery Services and threatened to serve me with papers from a fifteen year old debt. A check with my local County Clerk’s Office revealed no evidence of lawsuit filed.
