I just received a call from this number - (310) 1212. It says, "This is IRS service....please hang up the phone and you will receive a refund now." I called the number and my carrier (ATT), says, "This is ATT directory. Please say what State you are calling from, i.e. Texas or California." Must be a prank call. I blocked the number.
I am on the east coast and received a call from 310-555-1212 at 10:30pm. Same message about a refund. Then "Goodbye."
Hangup call from whomever these scammers are at 11:48am today. Caller ID said "CALIFORNIA" which is often how some cell numbers show.
Never call this phone number because it's a $2.00 charge for the 411 information! You should call your phone billing department & they should give you credit & not charge you. I called AT&T Uverse billing & they took it off of my bill. I never call 411 but the 555-1212 showed up on my bill as 411 when I tried to find out who the number belong to.
Since 555-1212 is the long distance info number for whatever area code is appended to it, this number was obviously spoofed. All I heard on my v-mail is they wanted me to "Press 1."
