I have received 2 calls from this number one at 11:24am EST on January 30th and one at 1:13am EST on January 31st. The caller ID says Los Angeles, CA. I did not pick up either call and messages were not left.
I got a call from 310-555-1212 at 2:30 AM (EST). I did not pick up and no message was left.
I've had a few callers use this Directory Assistance number, 310-555-1212, as their call center, which is completely bogus. A couple of calls came from India, based on their thick accents, stating they were Microsoft and needed access to my computer. Lately I've been receiving calls from a remodeling contractor daily with this number. I answered one today and asked why they were using a directory assistance telephone number. He laughed, didn't answer my question and asked if this was Mr. [my last name]. I then stated "you're using a directory assistance number and you think it's funny?" He hung up on me. Any call center that uses a directory assistance number as their phone number is a scam.
Get calls/hang ups from this number supposedly from "Directory Assistance". Finally answered to see what kind of telemarketing call it is, it is for home improvements. Very aggressive. I just started saying weird things and they still wouldn't give up!!! Don't answer!!!
I'm getting multiple calls every day from this number, claiming to be contractors working in my area and that I've contacted them about home improvement (I haven't.) They always call on another spoofed number first, followed within 5 seconds with another call from this numbers listed as "Directory Assistance." I've requested their do not call list 20+ times. They either hang up, laugh, or get nasty and say they'll keep calling. They never pronounce my last name correctly. They've told me that this is because I bought appliances at Home Depot. That was 11 years ago. They shouldn't be able to call me 4-6 times per day forever. Way to go FTC.
