received a call/voice mail on my cell phone from them stating the IRS was issuing a claim against me
Called claiming to be IRS. We all know the IRS uses mail not phone calls to contact people!

Called my phone telling me they are the IRS, threatening to take legal action against me.
They're very convincing. They have me in tears right now. I thought to look up the number and came up on this page. Who are these people? I knew when he said to hold on and the line went quiet that something was wrong. He said the phone call was being recorded, so when the line went quiet, I started talking to myself (No, I'm not crazy). I started crying because I didn't think it could be real. This should be considered terror activity only because when they call, they quote the IRS address correctly, all these IRS codes and forms and badge numbers and claim a warrant is out for your arrest and read what they call an affidavit. I'm so terrified right now because even if I know it's not real, I'm such an honest person that I was just telling everything. What are you supposed to do? I saw my life flash before my eyes and was literally shaking. I wrote everything he said down, so I have proof. These phone calls are wrong. Why not arrest them if they're doing this to so many people? Please reply if you've had this done to you and had the same experience. Thanks.
Thank you so much for your response. That was quite a lengthy response, but I read every word and learned a lot. I know about scams, but I must be so honest that I wouldn't think anyone would ever impersonate a police officer or the IRS or whoever else. Normally, I don't answer those calls, anyway. Honestly, I'm not even sure why I did. But thank you so much for the information, and I've learned a lot. Have an awesome day!
They have called me from this number and another one from Washington and claim to be the IRS I wish they would be blocked from doing this to people it scares the older folks
