received call - no message left - no idea who this is

It's Health Partner's calling to set up an appointment for an exam

This actually is a legitimate number for Regions Hospital Outpatient Services in St. Paul. I just received a message from a nurse to advise me of the details of my mom's upcoming appointment (which was not a hoax - my mom's appointment is real). The nurse left a callback number (different from this number, so yes the -7042 number may be an 'outgoing only' number) - I called her back on the number she gave, she answered, and we had a legit follow-up conversation on my mom's appointment.

This number called my office phone and left a voicemail that sounded like it was the machine from a voicemail service saying like "if you are content with your message press 1..." for about 30 sec. It shows up as Regions Hospital on caller ID but there was no way to tell who/what it was from the voicemail it left.

No. I have Sprint. She wasn't rude but she asked for some dude named John? Hm. Weird.

Why would a crisis hotline be calling random numbers? That doesn't make sense. Especially if it's a cell phone.

This is Regions Hospital and they let nearly anyone call out from here. Depending on who called you, it could be a mis-dial or someone you know who remembers your number and is looking for help getting out of there. Depending on their 'state of mind' they may be feeling held against their will.

I called this number and it said it was Regions' directory line or something like that. All it does when I pick up is beep on into infinity, and there's no one to call to take my number off the list.
