They take the fun out of scam baiting because it’s just recorded messages and you can’t speak to a real human being and mess with them like they mess with others and waste their time so they cannot scam the elderly which is who they are targeting.

We called the Medicare number for NHIC (877-591-1587) and, if you call after hours, you get a message to call 800-712-6600.Note that NHIC is no longer the California Medicare provider, so they probably aren't paying attention to the line. If you call the number, you get several sales pitches. We hung up.Note that the message telling us that the number had changed did *not* have the phone company tones (that shrieking diit-doot-deeeet) on the front of them that signifies that it's a genuine "forward" from the phone company-- it could have been a hacked voicemail box for all I could tell.

This number is a sales number, I tried to order cigars from Best Value Cigars, their 800 customer service number has been changed to this fraud number.

A unavailable number has been calling my cell phone every morning for the las week and wakken me up but today they left me a text of a number to call 1-888-534-1434 when i blocked my # and called it back it said the # had changed for my area and gave me 1-800-712-6600 again i blocked my # and it sounds to me like they are selling something never did hear where i was calling it was all prerecorded never got a real person.Wth is this???

I called my main branch office today and this message also poped up. But during the message thier is an option for things such as 411 info weather and One free 15 min call from Verizon. THIS IS THE SAME NUMBER MY BROTHER OVERSEAS USE'S TO CAL HOME

i was told about this number from a friend. sure there are a lot of sales pitches when you first call, but if you hold on for about a minute and a half, the operator gives you the option to make a FREE 5-minute phone call. it really works, i have used it numerous times. i have never received a call from this number, but i have used it to make several FREE calls. it is a great number to have in the case of an emergency if you have to call long distance from a phone that doesn't have a long distance carrier.

Looks like these con artists are back, was told to dial that number when trying to call a bank customer service number, dialed twice to be sure each one, somehow they hijacked the bank number!

I had activated a TracFone 2months ago online. It gave me a promo discount for automatic 30min monthly auto fill for a discounted price. Fowling month it took my money, but in the mean time the phone was lost . I received reminder about the renewal, and figured I better hurry and cancel..! Went online and discovered there was NO AUTO RENEWAL set for that phone. Called number given on the reminder I received. It was automated and tried selling me on Dish,some weather thing, and said I won a Cruise Vacation. I opted past those pitches, to be told the number was no longer being used.. I was to call 800-712-6600 to reach someone.. I Didn't call it. Cancelled my card, and now sending all info to Atterney Generals Office ..!!!

Called customer service about my account. There was an automated answer, then numerous ads that I declined and at the end, I won a vacation which I did not accept. Then, they gave me 800-712-6600 to call and there was the weird shrieking noise before hang up.
