I have received several calls from this number over the past three months and the person was claiming to be from Chase. I Googled this number and came to this sight and read all the possible fraud warnings, so I never called the person back. However, I just received written notification from Chase regarding a charge dispute I filed a few months ago. It turns out the calls I was receiving from Chase were legitimate. The letter came from the person who had been trying to call me these past few months.
It actually is Chase. They confirmed this when I called the number on my card. Not sure about the confusion with why they were following up with you but it was them. I had reported fraudulent charges a month ago. Whoever you talk to when you called was incorrect. For some reason they do not have this number in the directory looked up by the employees but they were able to verify the exact time that the person called, the message that he left and what it was about. So there is no doubt that this actually is from Chase. However, I am still more comfortable calling the number on my card!
I got a call from an African who could not speak very good English who was not very professional. Thought for sure it was a scam so I called Chase.Turned out it was not a scam. They confirmed Chase did call me. Chase verified this number as being legit without me having to read it to them.

They would not have been able to do that if someone was "spoofing" the call. So there is no doubt that this actually is from Chase. However, I am still more comfortable calling the number on my card! I do agree with you and it is odd that Chase would allow themselves to appear that way. No one calling inbound should ever ask you for your entire number or expiration date.better safe than sorry
Got call today (Aug 2015) - called main Chase Card Svc and they indicated it was from the disputes team. That phone number bank is likely a call center that services such customer service calls for many corporations. Given the bogus calls we get too often, its always best to just call the toll free number on the credit card and contact them that way -via the validate number.
*****THIS IS FROM CHASE*****It actually is Chase. They confirmed this when I called the number on my card. I had reported fraudulent charges a month and a half ago. If you talked to someone at Chase that said this number is not affiliated with them, they are incorrect. For some reason they do not have this number in the directory looked up by the employees but they were able to verify the exact time that the person called, the message that he left and what it was about when I called back the number on my card. So there is no doubt that this actually is from Chase."Anyone" replied that a fraudulent company can "spoof" a number. That is true for any number and any company. However, companies need to be able to call us. Avoid giving them any information if they are calling you. If you have doubts, tell them you will be more comfortable calling back the number on the card.
similar experience to above with similar 844 number. was very upset with myself for giving out some personal info. I even posted on site similar to this that someone who said it was legit was a liar. i was very upset. the person i spoke to, when he asked for my bday, told me it did not match their records even though it was correct. well, like some others above, i later received a letter from Chase. I recognized the signature name! it was the name he said he was when i asked. so I believe this is an actual call from Chase. incredibly unprofessional and unworthy of a company like Chase, in my view. i will be careful of all similar numbers, however, I now believe my experience was an actual Chase call.
This is the 5th call from this #. A very heavy accented woman ask me to please call her back at 844-540-8025 extension 657-1029.. Said she was from Chase card services. Calling on an inquiry that I made. The number that came in on my land line was 800-935-9935. I have made no inquiry's with chase. Called the number on the back of my chase to report this attempted fraud. The 800-935-9935 is in fact a real phone number for chase. The I GOTCHA NUMBER IS THE 844-540-8025 ext 6571029
It is 100% from Chase. It's from their escalation team with disputes - and for some stupid reason, it is a blocked number. (And yes, with an rapidly speaking indian lady) I just saved you the trouble of being transferred from department to department of figuring out whether or not your account's been compromised. Chase really needs to get their sh*t together. Should have never opened a card with them.
