Douglas and Associates (Tony) called my husband today and told him he owed over $1,500 to Credit One Bank from 2010. If he did not pay by today, he would have to appear in court on Monday. My husband believed this to be legitimate. I work at a law firm and could spot the problems right away. I told him to call back and ask them to send documentation confirming the debt and court paperwork. They emailed him a generic letter under the name of Hal Davidson, Douglas and Associates, 11400 West Olympic Boulevard, Los Angeles, CA 90064, with no real information. I replied to the letter and told them that without proper verification of the debt and proper court notice, we are disputing the validity of this claim. There has been no response. I could not locate any such company on-line. I then found all of these comments here and on another site and know we proceeded the correct way. If we do hear back from them, I will threaten to report them to the FTC. My husband's credit card was hacked about 2 months ago. I wonder if this is related? Please do not let these evil people ever win.

I get the same harassing calls from these people. Always claiming to be someone different. Here is the best connection I can find as far as a Douglas at this location. I got a call from all 0's and the guy left a message saying that if I did call them back I was going to be served with papers and left the same number that you gave above. Guess i will wait to be served. I also called the number this morning and got no answer or no recording. and he had my married name that has been changed for 5 years.

Tiffany, Do not respond or give them any information. This is a SCAM. I just went through it myself. A law firm called Douglas and Associates, 11400 W. Olympic Blvd, Los Angeles CA 90064 said the exact same thing to me. NO NOT PAY THEM.

Caller ID showed 011 but the callback number is the listed in this thread.I guess someone used my name in Florida as they said they were going to serve a warrant for me at some address in Holiday Florida. Not ever having even been in Florida I think Have nothing to worry about, If they do call back I'll request they send papers to that address and have the folks that do live there deal with it.

Following up my previous post. Last month someone got hold of one of one of my CC (Equifax breach) and used it to steal a rental card in Florida. They did not use my name but did use my home address. Long story short, the 'suspicious' collection agency Process Service Dispatch may have called in regards to that. So I passed the information to the rental car company and let them deal with the possible scammers.
