It's legitimate, only problem was there was an error in the system dialing my number because there are no liens, holds, levy, court orders, etc., and they apologized for their mistake. You can either provide SS# or call the customer service # with your account info.Log-in to your Chase account and under Customer Center (the last tab) scroll to the bottom and find:Reference Center/Contact Us, below it you will find Report FRAUD or email Scams, and it will bring up a small window with How to Report a Fraud link on the right-hand side, which brings up: Report fraud by phone:Chase Deposit (Checking and Savings) Customers1-800-935-9935 Chase Deposit (Checking and Savings) Customers outside the U.S.1-713-262-3300Chase Premier Platinum Customers1-888-262-4273 Mortgage Customers1-800-848-9136Credit Card Customers (Personal)1-800-432-3117 Credit Card Customers (Business)1-888-269-8690Chase Auto Finance Retail/Loan Customers1-800-336-6675 Chase Auto Finance Auto Lease Customers1-800-227-5151Chase Commercial CustomersContact your Customer Service Professional or Client Service Officer I called the number and they confirmed it is a JP Morgan Chase #, yes from the lien department, and they apologized for the mistake, there was however no way to tell the system that 'it' had a glitch because nothing in my account warranted the call.Happy Researching!-MM
It is Chase, it is NOT a scam. I had a levy placed against my accounts incorrectly, and they called to tell me about it. Because of their call, I was able to reverse the bad situation.
LOL It is a "run-around" number for me! I do not have a lien or anything like that; but am trying to garnish a Chase employee who owes my company for back rent payments. This is the number I was given to call 1-866-578-7022. From that point on, the run-around began; after some 7 numbers later, I was given a fax number to fax the info to and had to mail orignals to Chase Court Orders & Liens; which means I still have no contact number to check on this except the fax. Maybe I will try that to see if I get a response from it.Also, I am a Chase account holder and to me it is just another example of the mixed up automated confusion that my "personal banker" gives to me. I am seriously considering going with another bank at this point in time.Oh and that Chase employee up there "Don't Worry" yeah you are a great example of who we must deal with sometimes - sorry to make you work so very hard that you must look up numbers for your customers deary!!!!!!!!!!
So, she told you there were an incoming call service and that's why she couldn't call you? After calling you? How stupid are these people?
Just how stupid do you think americans are? This s a scam. BYW fool...in order to get that court order or IRS document you would have needed to go to court and have notified the person first. Stick to trying to rip off people in your own country who are stupid enough to fall for this obvious scam.
Oh brother, folks, please spend your time trying to rip people off in your own country. Sure, they're "great examples" blah, blah, blah. Hope for Chase's sake this ISN'T one of their numbers. If these "great examples" were actual Chase employees, the company would be in even more trouble than it is already.Nice try.
Sorry to all the folks who would like you to think it's a scam. For some of us it's not... this is the Chase phone number I was given when I inquired about a hold on my checking account. Come to find out the IRS came after me for back taxes I owed. And btw... the IRS didn't notify me they were placing the levy - they just did it and when I went to pay for dinner at a restaurant my card was declined due to insufficient funds. I have been working with the IRS since then to get the issues cleared up but trust me they can and they will. Chase never tried to notify me - I found out on my own. When I called the 800 number on the back of my debit card I was given their internal phone number to call to deal with leans, levy's or garnishments. Turns out it was this number
some of the idiots like 'ob' have nothing better to do than banter about something they have no clue on.. IT IS A LEGITIMATE CHASE BANKING #. For those you wary then don't call back and be screwed, who cares. For those that are actually smart enough, then call back and rectify the situation. Not like they are asking for $
