I constantly get phone calls from this place. They are phoning the wrong number, and they know that. This business disgusts me.
I can't think of why Citi Cards would be phoning us. Those people need stop calling. I have never even heard of that place.
Not all departments have the information. You called customer service. You need to talk to Fraud Early Warning at the 888 number, or ask to be transferred to that department.
Person calls and states that we have a Sunoco credit card. They ask for our social security number, it is very annoying.
I read these posts after receiving a call that left a message and it made me nervous so I called the number on the back of the card, they put me through to their fraud department and the card in question had been breached by a reader placed on a gas pump. Don't write these calls off as a scam call and actually find out what is going on. We live in a small town so it can happen anywhere.
Call came through from a 972-653-1000 and left a voice mail message stating they were from the “Shell fraud Division” and that they were alerting me that my Shell card “001” had been compromised. I was required to call them at 1- 888-658-8396 to have it replaced. They are available 8:00 AM-3:00 PM 7 days a week and to use the 4 digit reference# XXXX. Sc@mmers! Beware!!
The Fraud Early Warning department is indeed real and our toll free number IS 888-658-8396 and if you are susp about the call, feel free to contact the customer service department and askd to be transferred to the fraud dept. Other wise if we are trying to secure your account and you choose not to respond, it may result in your account being blocked until you do so.
I received a message about my Shell card being compromised, and after checking out these comments took a chance and called back. It is legitimate; my card ending in 001 had been compromised ( although the service rep said his info on the computer didn't say why), and my card would be replaced with one that ends in 003. My daughter has a card on my acct that ends in 002 and hers was still o.k. ; he didn't ask for any info except the reference # left in my message, and knew my acct from my home phone , on which I was returning the call. He did also say that I wouldn't be responsible for paying any fraudulent charges, if any occur due to the compromise.
People dont be stup!d, dont ever call the number someone asks you to call, call the number on the back of the card and they'll either transfer you to the correct department or give you a number to call.
Of course all the replies stating that the call is not a scam, could be posted here by the scammers so that they can stay in business. I suggest calling the credit care issuer (the number on your bill or the back of your credit card), instead of calling the number from the suspect caller.
