Claim to be from SFMGE, they said General Electric. General Electric in the past has claimed this has nothing to do with them, it is a SCAM.

Well it looks like the alarm scammers are at it again. This time they are faking a Raleigh North Carolina phone number, but they are actually calling from somewhere in Michigan. They're very adamant about claiming they are General Electric or "GE Security" when in fact they are not.In speaking with these morons, they claim that they are a company called Security Force, Incorporated out of Raleigh North Carolina but at the same time they also call themselves Guardian protection.Regardless, the entire deal is nothing but a scam - and an overpriced scam at that.If you speak to them they will do a soft credit check using your name and address - so do not be surprised if you check your credit and find that these scammers have done a soft inquiry on your credit without your permission.Worse, they only offer two contracts-one is a three year non-cancelable contract and the other is a five-year noncancelable contract. While the young lady I spoke to over the phone assured me that if any circumstances arose where I needed to cancel the contract they should be able to take care of that for me. But they will not put that in writing. The price they charge for your monthly monitoring is about three times the going rate for a legitimate local alarm company. This company is asking for $46 per month on their two versions of their noncancelable contract.I would recommend to never do business with such scum as this. No legitimate business would try and claim falsely that they were someone else-for example, this set of scam artists claiming that they are General Electric when they are not. General Electric in fact claims that this company is violating their trademark name and damaging the reputation of General Electric by making these illegal telemarketing calls to people on the do not call list.To further prove my point that this is an illegitimate business or an outright scam, I offer you several points to consider-First, they are calling people who are on the do not call list.Second, they are claiming to be a company that they are not.Third, they are faking the telephone number that they are calling from to make it look like a local company is calling you when in fact, it's nothing more than an illegal telemarketing call from some boiler room operation out of state.Fourth, there monitoring fee is three times what you would pay versus using a local legitimate business.Fifth, they only offer a noncancelable contract and even though they tell you that they will let you out of the contract verbally by phone during the sales pitch, they will never put this in writing as evidenced by the complaints found online directed at this company.Save yourself a lot of aggravation and a lot of wasted money by local and don't under any circumstances do business with companies that will lie to you and overcharge you.The best advice is just to hang up on them and then be sure to report them and their illegal calls to the FTC website at www.donotcall.gov

They called me, yes ME!I thought that, what with North Carolina not letting them use the restrooms, they needed a place to adjust. I don't care if they take a potty behind a tree, if that's really what their doing. But no funny business is allowed.

1. Was it a number I recognized from someone I knew? No and that makes it a scam call.2. Did it say "Out of area" on the caller ID? Why yes it did! That makes it a scam call.3. Did they leave a message on my answering machine because I didn't answer? Yes. That makes it a scam call too then.4. Could they get a real job instead of calling people that don't want these calls? Yes, but they are too sorry to do so. That also makes it a scam.5. Did I say the magic words and send evil their way, along with the phone company for profiting from these calls and the slime ball politicians that also profit from the phone company greasy their disgusting pockets? Yes I did and now they will have bad things happen to them. That is not a scam.

Let answering machine take call. There was no individual on the other end of the line, but a lot of other people talking, like a phone "boiler room" for solicitation calls. Telemarketer for sure. Came through ID'd from Angier, NC.

called this morning. caller id showed "unknown" I don't usually answer unknown calls, but I have relatives living in area code 919 and decided to answer. Lady claiming she was from General Electric and they were giving away free stuff to homeowners. She asked if I was a homeowner and I said no and she hung up. Another number for my "black list' on my call blocker is going in now.

Call to my work Cell phone that is not associated with a human. Caller ID indicated from Angier NC, which as Kim said is near Raleigh NC. No message left. I do not answer if I do not know the number...no exceptions! If it is legitimate they will leave a voicemail. I usually google the number just to find out who they are and I appreciate the info posted here. As expected, a scam or a ripoff.
