unknown call no message left

same thing as above . no message, just a 'missed call @ about 3PM central today; "no name" on the CID and came here to check it out

This number called today and I answered. They informed me that I had been selected to receive a $9000 grant from the Us Department of Treasury. They went through a whole script of why I had been selected. Then asked that I verify myself by providing a bank account number or credit card number that they could deposit the money to (information the treasury already had on file they assured me; just needed it to verify myself). I said I would like my husband to deal with it and requested a number to call back. They said they could provide that, but first I had to verify myself. When I said I did not want to do that, they hung up. Definite scam.

I got the same call today and it was the same scenario as the previous posting

Had a call from this number and did not answer because I did not recognize it. Glad that I did not.

just got a call. didn't answer & they didn't leave a message. looked it up and several websites said it's a scammer. wish they'd shut these people down.....

I just got a call from the same number today at 1016. No message left I blocked my number and called back and got a recording to check the number and dial again.

I answered the call. Nobody there.

A male with an Indian accent answered. He had a polite greeting. As with all telemarketers, I let him go through the first part of the script and then I politely ask to be taken off their call list. He offered a no interest government grant that I did not have to pay back. When I asked to be taken off his call list, he said no. Knowing my rights and how every other legitimate telemarketer responds, I shot back that he could take me off the list. He said he would call back tomorrow and that this was good news for me: I could buy a new car today. That was the line and I lost my patience. I asked for his name. He said he couldn’t give it to me and I was treating him like a fool. I hung up. Scam.

received the same message with the same kind of accent about 7 minutes ago. Not trying to be funny but barely understand what he was saying. He said I qualified for a grant. I asked him to take my name off the list. He was rude and very difficult to understand. Without a doubt a scam.
