Same thing happened with me

I suspect that my housemate's ranting and making negative comments in some app's support chat was the initial source of whatever generated my cellphone's ph# in their robo-dialer(assuming they aren't dialing numbers by hand(finger) bur rather calling thousands of numbers an hour with 5 or 6 "agents" with various language skill placed on the line with any that answer). Anyway when I read other comments here I asked housemate if I could look at the permissions on the app they had just installed - having endured the unsolicited sharing of the chat's back and forth only one hour prior, it seemed like a good place to start. Of course this is only a guess but the call happened aprox 2 hrs after the comments in a support chat of a newly installed APP on the Android TV Box-thingy he got for Christmas. It's a device without a phone number but with Bluetooth&WiFi and surely shouldn't in any way be connected to MY Cellphone. I looked up the "all permissions" the app required & read buried there that it wanted to track, analyze, share or sell information gathered from this device related to the activity on this app, and other apps and identifying info gathered regarding EACH AND EVERY device that IS or HAS Permission, HAS Been Denied Permission or even Attempted to connected to it for the entirety of any history -from this device or where this device appears in the history of another device with their services.. It went on from there- but I didn't bother to read the rest as I quickly uninstalled the app for them & then did a factory reset on the device for good measure. Now I need a shower.(I omit the name of the app so they might miss this post if they are stupid enough to only search for themselves by their web/app name and not the caller id # they transmit :) - And I can't prove it 100%.... but now that I'm more aware I think I can figure out how to. ;) Malcalypse I truly hope Life doesn't Imitate Art

So far recvd 2 calls within 15 minutes. Foreign female who you can barely understand asks for someone then hangs up

Keeps calling and no one answers. Finally got a person once and when they asked for an odd name I asked “who?” and they hung up on me.

called 4 times today real ***s, poor english

Calls several times in an hour. Was calling about government grants. When I told her to take me off the call list, she hung up on me..within 5 minutes a man called about the same thing.

Calling 15 to 20 times a day.
