I didn't apply for CCW permit, but I am getting a text stating that I did. Why would I receive a text about a CCW permit from Seattle when I am in Texas.. I believe this is a scam..
Not a scam. I rejected the call because I didn't recognize the number, but listened to my voicemail. It was an automated message from my local Sheriff's Office announcing that a permit I had applied for has been approved.
Not a scam. I received test message from this number. It was my local Sheriff's Office announcing that a CCW permit I had applied for has been approved.
Received the same call. However, I never applied for a gun permit in Madison County or anywhere else!.
courtesy call to let me know CCW had been issued and was available for pick-up (Madison County, AL)
This was an automated call from the Madison County Sheriff's office in North Alabama informing me my Pistol permit was approved. I did apply for a pistol permit the week before. I also received a text message from a similar number informing me of the same info. This is a valid call. If you haven't applied for a pistol permit in Madison County Alabama I advise you to check to make sure your info has not been stolen and being used for ill gain.
