This company calls very often from many different numbers, most of which originate from northern Virginia and the Washington D.C.
The Texas Senior Medicare Patrol has received several complaints about Social Security scam calls from 229-201-8985. The male caller said that “there are legal enforcement actions filed against [the recipient] and [the recipient’s] Social Security has been suspected for fraudulent activities,” and that the FBI and Georgia State Police were going to come after the recipient. The male caller also told recipient that if s/he went to the Dollar General store, purchased four $500 American Express gift cards, called him back, and gave him the serial numbers, that this would resolve the issue. THIS IS A SCAM. SOCIAL SECURITY WILL NEVER CALL YOU. Report these scams to the Federal Trade Commission (https //www ftccomplaintassistant gov), the Social Security Office of the Inspector General (https //www ssa gov/fraudreport/oig/public_fraud_reporting/form.htm), the Medicare Office of the Inspector General (https //oig hhs gov/fraud/report-fraud/index.asp) and your state's Senior Medicare Patrol (1-877-808-2468, or https //www smpresource org). DO NOT GIVE OUT YOUR MEDICARE OR SOCIAL SECURITY IDS. Check your Medicare Summary Notices (MSNs). If you see that Medicare has been billed for equipment or prescriptions that neither you nor your doctor has ordered, report that information immediately to 1-800-MEDICARE (1-800-633-4227) or your state's Senior Medicare Patrol (1-877-808-2468, or https //www smpresource org).
SCAM -The Social Security Administration NEVER CALLS; they send a snail mail letter. I should know - I work for them. Anyway, if you look at the number called from - it's from overseas not the USA. Advice: This is a total scam and should be ignored; better yet, block them if you have the capability.
Called several times saying my SS# was hacked and wanted me to verify my SS#. No way was I doing that. SCAM
Absolute SCAM!!! Have called 6x today, 7/15/19. This is the scam about the IRS. This is a well-known scam. Never speak with these idiots or give them any of your information. The IRS does not call anyone to put “a hold” on your SS#! If the IRS wants to contact a citizen, it will be through the postal service and you will be able to verify everything by calling the IRS number yourself.
They've called 4 times and left 4 messages today. Social Security office saying there's a federal crime on my social security number. I've blocked 4 different numbers - this is the latest one used.
Social Security Office stated there's a federal crime on my ss# Haven't called them back. They left 1 message and called 3x
