Received call (03/13/17). Caller stated he was from Ashley Technical Services under subcontract (did not get who they were subcontractor's for). Told that when they sent security updates to our computer they were bouncing back and wanted access to 'diagnose' the problem. I asked how much it would cost and he insisted that the 'diagnosis' would be free. As this was the second call today about the same thing (different company) I told him that I retained an IT company to keep our computers OK and hung-up. When I searched for the company, the only company I could find (Google) under Ashley Tec. Services in the US was in Newark, CA and their home page indicated only that they were offices of other holding companies with bo further information.
I get 2 calls from this number every day for past couple weeks. I don't answer and they don't leave voice mail.
A male caller called my cellphone and claimed that my computer was not receiving automatic updates they were sending. He asked me to go to my computer so that he could send them to me. I told him I was not interested in what he was offering and hung up on him. The call was from Cameron, Texas.
I have been getting calls from this number twice a day for the past three weeks, no messages are left and it doesn't state where the call comes from, like other unknown calls (ex. California, US, etc.) I do not answer unknown numbers, I repeat, I do not answer unknown numbers.
Call blocker has stopped 6 - 8 calls from this number over the past week. Great devices those call blockers!
Has been calling for almost 3 weeks everyday, wanted to update my computer security, only issue is I have not turned my computer on in a year, and geek squad does my security anyway and told me never even talk to these people
Just received a call that said that my mothers computer had not be getting hard updates downloaded. I said she had. They said not all of them. They said they are affiliated with windows. He said they were in Florida but the call is from Texas. Said his name was "Don Johnson." they were from Ashley technical services. I cautiously let him continue to go through some things, as my mom downloads far too many applications for me to keep up with to know if they fluke be legit. . I kept telling him that I didn't feel this was right. I was googling this number as we spoke. When I told him I didn't feel comfortable no more and I wanted to cut him off and I asked him out of the computer, he wanted to know why. I clicked them out and blocked their number. They try to win over people by saying foreigners as a bad thing. When I told him I was an activist he still kept talking about America and how Microsoft only sends Americans. I told him I was offended he did not apologize. I told him I take these phone calls from my mom. I blocked the number today. He also got hyped up when I said I would take it to our IT guy was rushing to say where they certified. You could hear panic that they were trying to keep me on the phone. I'm not sure if they're bad people or not. But I do know there nobody from a company we purchased. And not Microsoft. Don't take their call. Don't let them in your computer.
Bryce, they are liars, cheats, frauds and scammers. Noting else. Ignore these morons. Neither Microsoft not its affiliates will call you out of the blue and they DO NOT monitor your computer's activities.NEVER let them access your PC. They will steal your personal data, charge you for unnecessary repairs, or even go so far as to destroy your data.
