I figure this is a scam. This phone number appears to be a legit IRS phone number but was spoofed by a scammer. I received a phone call from this number over the weekend (I suppose IRS does not do business in such days), and the caller ID reads "US Government". So, I figure just laughing out loud over it is good enough!
The scammer left a message of female voice with a foreign accent like this: "The security number regarding the tax Road lawsuit will be filed against you in the schedule claim for talk today. Please give us a call back on 301-273-1073. To receive more information regarding this lawsuit. I repeat the number is 301-273-1073. Now please note that the non-billable arrest warrant will be issued on your name. If we do not hear back from you as soon as possible. Thank you and have a good day"
Just had the exact same message left on my cell phone. tried calling the # and call did not go thru
Got this exact message on Friday from the same number and one from 703-756-6663 the day before. US gov DGN CPX. DGN stands for design and CPX stands for command post exercise in government short hand. Obviously a scam.
Recieved the same call today, Saturday, with U S Government. I seriously doubt the government calls on the weekend and then not identifying herself by name. Really?!?
Received a phone call before 8 AM this morning from this number, left a voicemail claiming something about a lawsuit and an arrest warrant. Stupid scammers. I highly doubt the IRS is going to call me before 8AM on a Monday morning!
We received the same call but a prior call was made minutes before by a male who spoke our name then immediately hung up.

The person called to verify employment of someone, but I didn't recognize the person's name. The caller had an accent, and I couldn't understand them. I didn't call back to let them know they had reached a wrong number.
