This number called saying something about an offer from life alert, there was no option to get taken off their call list. It just said to press 1 to speak to a customer service rep and when I pressed 1, the call disconnected. Probably a ploy that actually gets more spam calls to your number if you press one so I suggest just don't answer. I tried calling the number back after they hung up and you can't get through. Not a working number or something. I keep getting these calls multiple times every day recently!
Hi, just wondering if you got them to stop.I answer, then press "0" as fast as you can... tap, tap, tap... and so on. Keep tapping until they hang up.This will take a few times, but eventually they stop...Hope this helps.Jerry
Should've included this in my first post, but I'm just wondering... does anybody else who has been receiving these calls Use craigslist? Do you have a current post/ad up now? Or do you use any "paid survey" websites?
I never use Craig's list; they have a variety of ways. I have my phone number on jobsites like Monster, Indeed, CareerBuilder. They probably look at these lists as employers; not to mention the 'donotcalllist is perfect for scammers.
I avoid Rachael the stalker. She only wants me for my credit cards. I guess she prefers plastic over paper.
Tried that. Didn't work. They called 17 times in a row and it was on my cell phone. Am very disgusted with them.
So tired of these BS calls 2 my cellShldnt b allowed !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Thnx for pissing 1/2 of America offWth these calls including me!!!!! NO TIME IN MY WORLD FOR#BIGSCAMMER
Folks, don't answer any call that looks suspicious. Google the number, and, if it appears on one of these forums do one of two things:1) If you can, block the number. It'll only be a temporary fix since it's not really the number from where these scammers are calling (they use software or phones that allow them to alter what number appears on your caller ID).2) If you can't block, add the number as a contact called "scammer," "scumbag," etc. and whatever you do, DO NOT answer the call.Even if they cannot scam you, your number is listed as in service and additional calls will follow. There's no way to stop them completely but I usually get them every six months. The DNC list won't help as only legitimate businesses follow those rules and law enforcement won't care unless you are scammed out of a significant amount of money.
