I have an ad on craigs list & person text me wanting to send me money order for my car. All they needed was my address.
What else did they say in the message because we had the same number contact us asking for money. We have a ad on craigslist and they responded and wanted an address and name..... Did they also text with a different number?
I apologize, I posted my statement incorrect. They claimed they could only contact us via text due to a disability and having hearing aids? But, in my position.. selling a van on craigslist and this caller messaged us saying they are from WA saying they would send a certified cashiers check and the excess amount left over we can give to the shipper? I know it's clearly a scam i'm not dumb in any way/shape/form. Tried asking him where his shipper is located he never responded... He had 2 cell phone numbers besides the one posted above.
placed an add on craigslist and almost immediately received a text from this number. Deleted it, did not respond. I do not do texting on my phone thru my carrier, only use WhatsApp.
Placed ad on Craigslist and he texted me and wanted to send me a cashiers check for quite a bit of money without seeing the item for sale in person. I talked to my bank and they suggested I google his number, so............here I am. He said he would wait for the check to clear before he had his shipper pick up the item. We decided to deal locally and in person; it's much smarter and safer.
