Caller didn't leave a msg

THIS NUMBER IS FROM A COLLECTION AGENCY,IN ONTARIO.THEY HAVE UNFAIR PRACTICES.IE OVER CALL.ETC...

this company is harassing the grandparents of the person they want to get in touch with, even when we have told them he does not live here any longer. ,

The call is from Aktiv Kapital in London, ON. Their practices are a scam. Don't answer the call or you can do what I do, pick up the phone for one second and then hang up.

Yup.. calls from a collection agency AKTIV Kapital. They do not play by the rules.. they call a million times a day and DO NOT go away. They have been calling my work, and I told them not too- and they still do!? They clearly can't find who they re looking for, and seem to think I am hiding them in my desk drawer. These calls are really pissing me off.

I received a call from AKTIV Kapital today and I am appalled at the level of service that they claim to have. After receiving the call and getting the recorded message that it was an "important" call and to stay on the line, it appeared as though I was connected to someone and then they simply hung up. In hopes of sorting out who it was, I called back. It was explained to me that it was AKTIV Kapital and after supplying my number to know why they had called, I was asked if I knew the person they were calling from. When I explained that I didn't, the woman asked me how it would be possible that they would have my number registered for this person as well as an address separate from that which we reside. I mentioned that obviously some people give information that is irrelevant to themselves in hopes of avoiding companies and assured her that this person she had mentioned, I had no interactions with and did not know them at all. This woman was still in disbelief that her system was telling her one thing and I was telling her another. She became quite rude and abrupt and said that she would "look into it". After this comment and her poor customer service I mentioned that I was going to block their number. She said, "Go ahead, if that's what you feel you need to do." Number has been blocked and I will be calling them consistently so that they know what it's like.

They are calling my work and wont stop!!! how do you end this harassment?

There's probably not a lot that you can do to stop them from calling your work. You voluntarily gave them the number. If there is any chance to fight it, call a lawyer for advice or your local MP.You don't have to give anyone your work number. I got burned at work years ago. Now I refuse to give it to anyone.

Send them a letter VIA certified mail with return receipt requested informing them your employer does not allow these calls. This is your right under the FDCPA. If they continue calling after you have proof they received your letter, you can sue them for $1,000 per violation.
