Just got a call from this number.. Its 9am july 12 in vancouver.. Seems that this person is making the rounds! Thank goodness for caller id!!!
Received two calls today from 780-737-8989. First call no answer. Second call from Air Miles stating I won a 2000 bonus credit or something but voice was text-to-speech like a robot voice. The recording stated press 1 to claim your credit. I pressed 1 and could here it calling a few times before it disconnected. Im pretty sure they have confirmation my phone number is in use and therefore will sell my number to other scammers and telemarketers. I'm probably screwed now. I never even pick up unknown numbers and let it go to voicemail but I just got off the phone and immediately answered without thinking.
Just called me too (July 12, @1:35 PM) Didn't answer. Am getting so sick of these numbers calling. Am seriously considering getting rid of my landline.
I just recieved two missed calls from this number. Good thing I didn't waste anytime to go answer it.TAKEN FROM THE AIR MILES SITE:AIR MILES does not use an automated message to notify Collectors they have won reward miles. Received a call to my cell. Not impressed that they called just after 5 & while I was on a crowded bus. I get charged for all my calls per minute. What was the sense in the do not call if it doesn't & never has. Government wasting our money again.
