noticed fraudulent monthly charges on my checking account from YMCA LA. Have no clue how it got there. When I called my bank they gave me the number 800-951-0403, but when I called to find out who they were the recording tried to sell me services and vacation cruises and what not. Finally after many painful tries, I was referred to the number 800-712-6600. However this number is another annoying recording that keeps asking for my last name and spelling of it and asks me if I am someone else. And when you say no, it goes back to asking you the same thing and it never ends. It basically takes you through a loop till you eventually give up. Meanwhile they are still charging my checking account and my bank just informed me the only way to stop it is to close my account and open another one. And all those real electronic payments I have for my bills and insurance and stuff have to be transferred to the new account and that takes a while. In the meantime, since my bank is investigating it and has already advised me that i have to close my account, any new charges are my responsibility!!!! I even called YMCA near my house and they have no idea either. Who the hell are these people?
Comcast Cable service 1-800-366-3178 advised when I called that their number had been changed to 1-800-712-6600. Called that number and when asked if over age 50 was told I qualified for a free medical home alert system. Wanted personal information. Press another key and i was told I had just qualified for a free trip to the bahamas. IF this happens to you are you get a call from them report this number to the FCC and/or FTC.
Just got the same message. Listened to 6!!!! damn offers, hit # each time to deny the BS offer, and then it tells me the original number I called was changed to 1-800-712-6600! When I called that number - more damn offers! I don't think calling the FCC is going to do anything about it. They'll just find another way to be a pain in the butt to people. I just wanted to speak to a cc company about settling my account which is way overdue. If I have to put up with this BS then I don't give a damn!!! I tried!!
I had the same experience as the others. Tried to call a Comcast number and got the whole spiel about 6 different wonderful things I've won. Finally, was told the number had been changed to 800-712-6600 where I was caught in an endless loop of spelling my name. Finally gave up.
got a spoofed local number for a sell your timeshare scam (Timeshare Acquisitions), which switched me to a scam number (800-993-9942), which directed me to another scam number (800-712-6600). Just a bunch of THIEVES.
I called my ins. co and they answered. They tried to get me to answer questions. I thought I was talking to my ins co and said I didn't want to answer questions. They then told me that the ins co had changed numbers and they gave me the 800 712 6600 number.
I too have been scammed. I keep getting charged $9.95 a month on my bank account and the number that is listed is in California, then they say to call this number 8007126600. Can not get through to anyone. All automated. I have my bills linked to this card and is a pain in the [***] to have to change it. I will have to though. This sucks.
Spam spoof whatever. Constant calls, ridiculous waste of time.Stop selling my number to these [***]!
This Is an outdated # for Bank of America which I had in my billfold. When I called this # because a cc charge was declined, I had to listen to the same spiel as others here. When I got home, I looked on my last Bank of America statement, and the customer service # has been changed.
Not a call from 800-712-6600, but I was told to place a call TO 800-712-6600 after I accidentally dialed 800-877-2717, just one digit off the number I intended to dial. After a bunch of "free" offers, etc. I wised up and did NOT call the "new" number, 800-712-6600. Pretty sneaky, eh? Set up your fraud number to be a common mis-dial of a real number, and rope people in !!!
