He called with a heavy accent saying he was calling from Windows and he had an error message from my computer. I operate on an Apple IMAC so I knew he was lying, I asked if this was some type of scam and he hung up on me right away.
I appreciate the information given by posters so far. Some time ago I was taken in my something like this, so I know what is being reported by others is correct. However, since I didn't recognize this number, I didn't answer, and no message was left. If I get called again, I'll continue to ignore & if it is repeated, then I may report to FCC. However, scammers such as this apparently will just change numbers.
i have gotten this call at 11:33am inthe morning same here but all i have to say that i have been a trying best to computer scam me because there's nothing that they can do and so i reported to the microsoft tech support scam page and i have reported and so i think yall should too because what i'm looking for is not be charged for a big price for the service what i'm looking for is to be left alone because i had a bad experience with my computer and i don't wanna talk about it and so the toll free number is blocked because microsoft is investigating and i'm pretty sure that they went to that hotel and found out and so i don't know why they called way from over there i wouldn't be over there or live there or do a business over there because hawaii is scary and so i don't know why i'm being computer scammed because there's nothing that these unknown computer telemarketing companies can do because i don't like telling these unknown computer telemarketing companies about what happen to my computer and they don't need to know and i don't like to bother those kinds of people because this right here is a different story and so what i'm not looking for is to pay a big price what i'm looking for is to be left alone because i had a bad experience with my computer and i wanna be left alone".and so i had a terrible experience when they called without my permission and so just report them to the microsoft tech support scam page because anytime i get a call i always hang up and press star codes to block their calls and it works and my house phone never rings through out the day and so i have had a terrible experience when it comes to dealing with computers and i know it's scam a computer scam and so the toll free number is blocked".
Called me today and asked for me by name which I could barely understand because of his strong accent. I told him that I was the person he was asking for. He then keeps asking for me and I told him three more times that I was the person. He then asks if he could speak to someone who speaks English. What??? Is my east coast accent that bad? I told him that he needed to put someone on the phone who spoke English and then he hung up on me. I have no idea what this call was about.
Called this morning at 6:10 am! Caller ID indicated SHERATONWAILIKI but I didn't answer. Anyone that calls that early in the AM has to be a scam call. According to Goggle this is a correct number for the hotel but I'm sure it wasn't Sheraton calling.
This number shows up on caller id as Sheraton Hotels. It is an Indian Man on the line. (East Indian Accent) Told me he was from Microsoft and that I was receiving error messages on my computer. Scammer trying to get access to your computer.
Same issue with me. The no. seems to be from Sheratonwakiki, that's in Hawaii but they aren't calling anyone.Received call today and on last Saturday, 4/18/2015.Spam caller, nobody talks.
Caller ID said: Sheraton Hotels. Left no message. Been getting many many spoof calls, telemarketer calls, robo calls, etc. Is becoming a total nightmare. Putting the number on my "Block" list is a joke because the caller then just changes one of the numbers and it's "here we go again".!!!
Got a call from this number that simply hung up on me. No reason to be getting a call from Sheraton Waikiki Hotel. Maybe the Sheraton needs to investigate their employees to find out who is using their phone to play games with people since it sure does make me never want to consider them as a vacation option....wouldn't trust their staff right now with my personal info for nothing !!!
