Stole 450 from me and my driver license pic, have any of you contacted the police
This number was used in an elaborate Denver housing scam for a cheap apartment. Their necessity to avoid any actual payment processor and stick to pictures of prepaid Visa cards (lol red flag) led me here. Feel bad for Peggy (who I reached out to), the lady whose license and selfie is getting dragged into the front lines of this.
The scammer buys phones with prepaid cards that are scammed from people looking for apartments in other cities. They then sell the basically free (stolen) phones to people on apps like letgo or craigslist. They are not a legitimate business and you are supporting a deadbeat scammer.
Yep got scammed out of 250$ as a deposit on a high demand studio apartment. The most elaborate scam I’ve seen thus far. Even knew personal details about me.
Saw a great craigslist listing for an apartment. This number said there was a high demand for the place but could secure it for me by putting $300 down. They couldn't accept CashApp, Venmo, PayPal, Zelle, or an in-person cash transaction. They asked me to go buy a Visa giftcard and send pictures of it along with a photo ID, or send payment through MoneyGram. They also sent a 'selfie' along with a Florida ID to 'prove' they were real, probably from another poor lady they scammed in the past. At this point, I got sketched out and looked up the number and found this thread, almost got scammed myself, be careful out there!
This person is a scammer. They scammed me out of $150 on the guise of holding an apartment
This number is definitely attached to a scammer. They have posts up on craigslist for rooms for rent and ask for a deposit via the cash pay app. They use a different name on the app for the username ($Dariouspettress2747) that doesn't match up with the ads (Kacy) and the other names previously posted. The cash pay app (made and run by Square) apparently does not really care if people are scammed because they are letting this person create different accounts using the same phone number. The scammer asks that you pay the deposit immediately because other people are coming to see the room, then asks you to pay the full month of rent up front "in order to make the move and everything easier" but there is obviously no room available for rent. The photos of the house don't match the address given and there are other red flags you only find out after the fact.
