I think by the way the voicemail sounded, and the poor answering machine message, This is a debt collector. I am calling them back today to see what it really is and will post back with my findings.

I am aggravated that I am being contacted by a 512 area code and asked if I am Gloria Ortiz, with an opportunity to indicate I'm NOT her by pressing 1 or to call this 888-397-2880 if I have info. Well, I press 1 to say I'm not Gloria many times now week after week and still I get this calls. I was in Europe over the past 3 weeks and got huge costs from them because their robot keeps calling my phone. So, I decided to call back the 888 number to talk to someone, but the robot that answers just wants more info and when I just stay on the line, it says there is no one available to answer and to just call back at the same number later. This is my cell phone! What can I do to stop this harrassment? They say they are ERS Group but not sure if this is even true...

Got a call from ERS Group at least thats who they said they were. Had my cell # last # digits of my social and home address. Said I took out one of those quicky loans and they were looking to collect. I never took out any loans and confronted him. He said I could contact my attorny and have them call to dispute it. Why should I have to pay an attorny to dispute something I am already disputing. I'm sure this is a scam. Has anyone else run into this

Yes, I have they called from a 904 area code then left this number to call back which is ERS. I called backed and they are trying to collect on a loan I payed back in 2010 I still have my receipts and everything. Then, they said they will call me back never heard from them again. But, they will constantly call you.

The number which contacted me was 917-512-8022. This is the number that appeared on my phone. I didn't answer and an automated message was left requesting me to contact them to give an address. How "something" came across her desk which required an immediate response and a physical address to locate me. It was a very detailed automated message demanding a response. The toll free number which was left is 888-397-3880. From what I see from the responses of 888-397-2880 on this site, it is some sort of debt collector for a pay day loan. NEVER had a pay day loan and they will not receive a response from me. It appears that they have multiple numbers to contact you, which appear to be your local area codes. Tricking you into answering. CAUTION.

Just got a call from this number. I answered and it was a robocall asking if I was a certain person or if I could confirm an address for the person they are looking for. Wanted me to call if I could give information on the address or location regarding a "matter that had come across her desk". Said it wasn't a sales or soliciting call. Might as well have just stated it was a collection call.......LOL! Anyway, don't know who they are looking for and at this time I do not plan to call any number back. Oh, and the number on my caller ID was 502-442-0965 but the number they wanted me to call was 888-397-2880.
