Claimed to be selling a wireless alarm system with GE . Never asked to run a credit check ,but were very adamant about having to come out within 2 days or the product would not be available anymore. Thought that was weird and told them to call me back another time and they never did. Sorry to hear this appears to be a scam for homeowners . Quoted a price of 39.99 a month with no contract.

I have relatives with a 919 area code so I answered the phone. They hung up on me. Too bad because I was ready to rip them a new one.....as if they care! Hey scum.... It is my supper time and I don't have time for this s---t!!!!! Get a real job'you jerks!!!!!!

I recognized the area code as N.C. as I was stationed and lived in Raleigh from 1999-2007. None of my friends have my S.C. home number so I screened the call and then picked up. They asked for me and I made it like "let me get him" while I was reading these articles on my cell. I came back on the line and said I know this is a scam and they hung up.

Unknown name caller who asked for me by name. Blogs say this is security system scammer located in Raleigh, NC

Said they were from GE security systems, 'the company that usually deals with home appliances'. Web site provided was www.ge-promo.com. Website has no info, and only one functional link to a video on Youtube made by alarm.com. She stated security monitoring was 30-45 $ per month, depending on how much equip you order. We're on the do not call list, and we already have security with monitoring. Blogs say GE sold the residential security business several years ago.

They called my cell. Did not answer. No message. Thanks to all who have warned us about this scam.

I am also on the DNC list. Phone number 919-275-1986. Told me that I was a going to receive a free installation and that their techs were out in my area. Gave me a GE71086 number and call back to them. Glad to know this is a scam.

Call came in from this number, caller id said unknown name. Answered call and a machine said " goodbye". I suspect this is a fishing phone to find active phone numbers.

Party called cell phone. I don't answer phone calls when I don' know who it is. Party did not leave a message.

Did not answer.....left no message.
