5 min after this hang up call, my phone mysteriously called another number. This was the second time I received a call from them and had this happen. It looks like it's a trigger to place a call from the smartphone to upload data...but GWU would never have any part in Government surveillance...would they???
just received a call from 2029941000. It's GW area, used to live in that area. This number calls everyday.
I have been receiving calls from this number 202-242-0000 which if you call it back gives you the 202-994-1000 number. And is answered as George Washington University....which I've never attended. Called the 994-1000 back and have been on hold for 28 minutes.
I would presume that a scam is somehow filtering the call through GWU. If GWU was calling for donations they would leave a message. The number says 202-994-1000.
