OMG i saw this fax number listed on CL for an apt in riverdale nyc ... the apt priced was too good to be true buyer beware !

This is listed as a contact fax # on a suspicious Craig's List apt. rental for Vancouver, BC.

I believe this is some sort of scam. It's posted all over the web as a fax number to fax your credit scores and info.

So what happend if we had already faxed our credit score with name on it?

their deals are too good to be true... would better check if there is anything suspicious activity with your credit in case they use your identity...

Something doesn't 'ring' true with the Albuquerque craigslist ad using this fax #. VERY suspicious & I wanted to report it. There is no information or contact included. They simply want my credit scores faxed to this number.

This number is also used in some suspicious ads on Craigslist at BOSTON. Same thing, asking for credit score with no contact info (just says "owner: Liz").

It's a cunning way for privacyplus.ca to rope you into signing up for their credit reporting services. 1) get excited about apartment listing2) following their lead you need to fax your credit report to them3) it's a great apartment and I don't want to lose it waiting for my report4) sign up for their free trial so you can access your credit file online5) give them your CC info (7 days free, they bill you $30 after that)6) you get access to their website where they tell you that your credit report can be viewed online7) their website is basically a list of links to TransUnion/Equifax's online request services. There is some BS about coupons for online reporting etc. Following their links take you to sites like TransUnion and Equifax. Why does one need these guys, go straight to the bureaus yourself - they have free reporting
