I got a call from this number claiming to be from some property company. They knew the street I lived on and the approximate balance on my mortgage. I hung up, as I was unsure if it was a telemarketing call.

When you answer the phone they hang up. They are trying to see if the number is actually associated with a person or not. Most likely they will clone the number.
