They callled wanting to give me a insurance quote. Soon as they got my address they hung up.
Called once...when told I was not available they called again approx. 2 hours later. Have received calls from this # before but for different pitches and by different "employees". Background sounds like a lot of callers busy making calls. Since asking them not to call is ineffective I went along this time trying to get as much info without giving any out. Today's caller claimed to be "Christina from LCN" trying to verify my mailing address to send me information. When we couldn't quite get that part clarified, and as I became concerned "Christina" then explained that she "got my name & address from local insurance agents, who forwarded it to her, as I supposedly was inquiring about my reducing my car insurance within the last 6 months". When her bogus address for me "didn't work in their USPS verification" she tried to get me to provide an alternative mailing address which I claimed not to have. This is no the first contact from this number. Always different callers and scripts. AND different company names. I believe they started as texts. They have migrated to another family members # but still ask for me. ALL household numbers are on DNC list. *And when I called them from another # to see what they answered as...I got a male voice , no identification and a hang up.
I received 3 different calls from this number in a day so I thought it might be worth my time to answer the 3rd call. A lady on the other line said she was part of an organization that just wanted to make sure that I was getting the best car insurance rate. She asked me numerous questions about my car and what make/model and where I lived, if I kept my car in a garage or carport or on the street. And after those questions I had a sinking stomach feeling that this might be a scam so I asked what the companies name was that she was working for. She couldn't give me a direct answer, just said she was in business with local carriers/insurance providers in my area and someone would be in contact with me once I answered some more questions then they could give me an official quote. After that I then politely told her I didn't feel comfortable giving personal information over the phone to a company that cannot be revealed and asked to be taken off of any call lists.
