Maybe its just somebody trying to make a living, instead of just living off the taxpayers LIKE so many of the people in duluth. Yes, they are a call center. They handle outbound and inbound calls for VARIOUS energy companies ranging from minnesota all the way to texas. I know because I was a proud employe well going to school!!!!!!
my guess is its a scammer who once they establish you are a vulnerable target try to get information they can use for identity/credit theft.
You lot are have got to be 100% stupid for getting mad about being on the DNC list and still getting telemarketing calls.See, how that list works is you'll be on the list not to be called for cold calls, however if you had a recent interaction with a company in the past 18 months they are legally able to call you with telemarketing calls regardless if you are on the DNC list. Hence why if you're still getting calls from your energy provider while still on the DNC list. No, Customer Link is not trying to scam you. They were asked by YOUR energy provider to do the calls for them. Sure, I get you may get mad over the fact you get called often. However these are requests Customer Link is responding to by your energy providers. These are programs offered by - once again - your energy providers. They chose how to market these programs and because they chose to do it via telephone, does not mean Customer Link is calling you so you can scream at them because you don't know how the DNC list actually works.A call center job is very stressful. Though it may be very hard to believe, they're not being paid so you can treat them like dirt. This comes from another call center employee.
I didn't give you my cell number and I do not want you calling me any more!! Stop with the bull crap!!!!!!
Stressful job? Get a different one. You chose to get a job in a telemarketing call center, its not like you thought "hey everybody likes to get calls on their cell from unknown telemarketers." You took a job harassing people. Deal with it.
You don't like getting telemarketing calls? Might as well just cancel every service you have with anyone, because they're legally allowed to call you for things. It's probably best anyways to just live in a cabin with no electricity, gas, running water, or telephones. But really, it's a bit difficult to find another job when a majority of the people hiring are telemarketers/customer services places.
This is true- I used to make these calls to Mpls. residents. CL is also the overflow for the repair line for Centerpoint Energy.
If there is an outage of some kind in the MI area you live in and you are a DTE customer you will most likely get a call from CL to find out how satisfied you are with DTE and their services or how they handled the situation.
A woman named Dawn called claiming she was from DTE Energy wanting to speak to the person in charge of the energy account. DTE with a 218 area code? Yeah, I don't think so...plus DTE would know the name of the person in charge of the account already, they wouldn't need to ask. Anyways I put her on hold and looked up the phone number but the time I went to pick up the call to tell her that basically I don't believe she is from DTE, she had already hung up. Figures, telemarketers and scammers don't wait more than 30 seconds before hanging up if they are put on hold. Which in a business it would take roughly at least a minute for the person they are looking for to pick up the call.
