Caller ID Showed TEST. No message left, no idea who or what they are and don't care either.
I'm receiving calls from different states, city's, harassing me what can be done about this? This goes on every single day can I sue all these phones numbers that call....
just received a call from this number....I didn't accept it - as I quickly looked up the number on internet....apparently its still trying to scam people...
1231-267-8110 called. When I picked up the phone it disconnected after a few seconds. Two minutes later I received a call from 866-358-6518. The man said my electricity was going to be turned off unless I paid it. I did not want to give any personal info to any # that didn't match the electric co. He said he would transfer me to someone to help me. I heard a lot of annoying musical tones before someone picked up. He gave me the same phone # 866-267-6518 to call. I called my electric company from the # on my previous bill. They said that it must be a scam because my bill was paid with a zero balance. They said they could not do anything, but that I could fill out a police report.
Received calls from this number five times to lower my interest rates. Same old worn out scam they have been using for years. These people must be total retards. Not even enough brains to come up with a new scam.
Call blockers are great, but the scum telemarketer just moves on to the next call - too easy - and what happens when they change numbers/ID? This number came up as "TEST" this time. Here's what I did:1) Had to "find" my CC - took a couple of minutes.2) Read the numbers (bogus - but write them down so you can repeat) slowly. When asked to repeat because the numbers don't work, read slowly back again, but change a 3 to an 8 (darn, don't have my glasses...).3) Repeat until you sense impatience on the operator's part. Just before they hang up (this timing is a real art), read them, the 1-800 number on the back of the card - mine says "1-800-National Do-Not-Call Registry".This last time I had them on the phone for 10 minutes - this is close to a record, but I keep trying to best my previous time. GREAT SPORT!The "Gummint" created the DNCR, but didn't give it any teeth. It is up to all of us to bite the telemarketers where it hurts by wasting their time, and, maybe more importantly, make them suspicious that every sucker they talk to could be a punker. When they start hanging up on REAL suckers, then their business model has failed...
