This guy has been calling me since Monday, December 26, 2014. He says his name is David Bay and he wanted me to be his friend on facebook. He was very handsome so I accepted. Within 2 days he told me he loved me and that he wanted to take me all over the world traveling with him. His accent was difficult to understand. Told me he was Sweden but the accent sounded Nigerian. He then told me that he had to bid on a telecommunications job in South Africa and to pray that he gets it. He called and texted me constantly. I joined two verification sites to check for scammers, sexual predators, etc., etc. Obviously, I knew that this guy was not who he said he was. He said he got the job in South Africa and that it was going to pay him $500,000 for two weeks. I knew then that he was not telling the truth. He also sent me wedding ring pictures and wanted to marry me. I was going to carry on with him until he asked me for money but I couldn't stand all of the texts and phone calls. When I asked him to verify his phone number and why it was under a telemarketer company, he tried to change the subject and said why do you not trust me. I then asked him to verify his facebook picture, so he sent me another picture that he stated was taken just a few days ago, but the picture was taken in a vehicle and the sun was shining and the grass and bushes were green and he supposedly lived in Queens, New York.
Out of curiosity, are you located in the same area code? I received a call from this number at 1am and didn't answer because I don't know the number. I live in that area code, and had to provide my phone number at a store to do a return just hours earlier. The interesting part is I have an out of state phone number, not the local area code. Makes me question if the store's computers are secure, and it is a national chain. Other sites like this contain recent complaints of the number being involved in a 'Nigerian Prince' type send money email/phone scam.
Well heck - now I want to know which scam this person is going to try on me. IRS, Craigslist, Nigerian love god, Indian telemarketer, 12 year old?! I'm soooo curious.Oh, and yeah. Any guy who says he loves you after 2 days should be shut down and reported immediately.
I just received a phone call from this number and it was my son who is in the United States Army and is stationed in Afghanistan.
Keep getting calls from this jack***...he says he is with the IRS and has a cashiers check and wants to send me the check worth $6500 I told him it's a scam and he said NO, I'm with the IRS (then I hear a chicken/rooster in the background - really???) I hung up, he called back, I hung up, he called back and my husband answered so he wanted to know if he should send the check to our house or my bank so my husband said, just send it. GIVE ME A BREAK.....
My 88 year old father got a call from this number earlier today . They said that my son was in North Carolina and he had been involved in an accident. He had been to a function, had a couple glasses of wine and got in a wreck. He was being held on 9500 bail. The man identified himself as my son's lawyer, and we would need to send 950 cash to get bail posted. They even put somebody on the phone saying they were my son, and to post the bail asap. Now.....my son was out of state at the time. Scared the crap out of all of us. It was all a scam. Thank god my father is pretty much deaf and did not give them anything. Everybody please feel free to crank call this number. As of today, they actually pick it up and claim to be a courthouse. I told them to drop dead.
