Flagstar. They start to call on the 2nd if they haven't received the payment. And when you do pay, they still call because their system doesn't update efficiently. My mortgage payment isn't officially late until the 16th--when they charge me a late fee. So why call me on the 2nd? I have never missed a payment and I've had this mortgage 12 years. And the last guy was so rude and insinuated we were deadbeats--like I said, we've NEVER missed a payment--and my husband cursed him out and then the guy had the nerve to act all offended, like his rudeness was perfectly okay but a rude response was not. That is one business that definitely needs some customer service training. Or maybe they hire jerks who enjoy abuse, because I'm sure with the battitude they certainly must be on the receiving end of a lot of it.
Flagstar. They call when you are one day late. And if you've scheduled your payment online they don't have access to see it, so if you schedule it for the 5th, between the 2nd and about the 7th or 8th you'll get calls asking for the payment. If you tell them you have a check coming in on a certain date, they'll ask you to pay them now anyway, after you've just told them your check is coming in on a different date so you can't pay them today. The payment is officially late on the 16th for my account, but they'll still call on the 2nd. I have never been a whole month behind, but they will keep calling, even after I've spoken to one of the agents, and they'll ask if I plan to keep the house. I'm a week late and they want to know if I'm abandoning my home? I could see if I was a year late or six months late or even three months late, but not even a month late so not legally behind where they could foreclose even if they want to, and they think I'm going to default? Especially since I have paid them religiously for ten years, just sometimes a little late. If I had known they were such [***] to work with, I would have borrowed from someone else. It's not like they're not making a [***] ton of money off of me with the interest.
