There's nothing that you can do except block these numbers as they come up but the scammers are overseas and use a robocall computer that shows a phony phone number and they just change it when it gets a lot of blocked calls. Because they are overseas and use "phone over internet" there is very little the government or phone companies can do about it
Same thing. Msg announces, somewhat menacingly, "This is your second and final notice to reduce interest on your overdue credit cards ..." etc. Huh? Obviously a scam meant to alarm the elderly or people who have fallen behind on payments. I block 'em with my neat Panasonic phone block feature - especially useful given that we all know our "Do Not Call" list was compromised by hackers months ago and a listing there may actually result in more harrassing calls, not fewer. Anyway, for what it's worth, a reverse search on the scammer's number goes back to the residence of "M I Doyle" in Ashcroft, BC. Either someone at the residence may be involved or, much more probably, that residential number is defunct and hacked by the spammers. I would really like to know why I pay a hefty monthly phone bill to a telephone company that is seemingly unable to provide basic security to its customers. What are these blocks of numbers the telco sells to phone marketers/scammers. Why does the telco seem unable to identify who those "corporate" shark clients are? If I do a return call to a scammer's number, the telco message interrupt inevitably states that the number I've called is not in service. Yet it is! And the telco knows it full well because they're actively strive to increase their bottom line by taking money from the scam sharks that provides open season on unsuspecting ordinary residential customers. -Sick Of It, in Vancouver.
This number keeps calling our phone and we are on the no call list. Very annoying there is never anyone on the other end of the line.
They are telemarketers who've been calling me for the past week. I haven't been picking their calls. They don't leave message, so this evening I decided to pick up the call. All I get is an automated voice prompting to press "1" and the message goes on to say that this is my second the final notice to reduce my credit card interest rate. Hopefully, they won't call again...bloody telemarketing companies. I'm on the DNCL, so I'm not sure how these guys have the right to call. I'll have to report their number.
They call and call and call. First time today, a highly annoying automated "this is your final warning to lower your credit card payment - press 1 to connect" or something to that effect, but this was repeated at least 8 times. Pressing 1 does absolutely nothing, then the line goes dead. I then, out of frustration, called 250-453-2289 (with a leading 1 for long dist) and the number isn't even in service. F-O-U-L. You can't even trace it back. Five minutes later, another call from this scum. This time, it tells me that I am being connected to a 'service agent'. While all of this is being recorded, I immediately demand that my number be removed from their list. *click*. Imagine some greasy goy tried doing that with a telephone, greasy goy'd see black helicopters and SWAT teams armed and gung-ho to haul your goy [***] off to a gulag for inter-provincial harassment with a telephone, which is an expensive essential service that these [***] can use to get away with it.Hey, 250-453-2289, whoever you are, go eat a big bowl of dicks, then please go die somewhere and leave me the [***] alone.
Do what I do !Act excited about their call and take the phone to the bathroom.1-place the phone over the toilet bowl2-flush the toilet3- slam the seat down4- Make disgusting noises i.e pharting,belching,etc5- answer the phone and say that you will be with them in a minute, just cleaning up a bit6- repeat as necessary7- ENJOY THE FUN !
