We received a call from 253-753-9042 this morning. The Caller ID said "UTILITY." It was a robocall with a prerecorded message droning on about 'state government electric deregulation' and how we 'may be eligible' to save money on our electric bill. It said to press 5 to speak to a representative and to have our Commonwealth Edison bill and account number on hand. Since I wanted to find out who was behind this intrusive call, I pressed 5 and waited for someone to answer. When she did, she immediately asked for my account number. I don't think so, lady. So I politely asked her which company she was calling from and she hemmed and hawed and then said "Energy Discount Center." I asked her, again politely, to put us on their do not call list and she said she would.Electric deregulation in Illinois now means that the generation portion of the electricity service will be open to competition but, if you have ComEd for example, they will still be responsible for the billing and for the transmission lines. Power companies have inundated our mail boxes with information. That's fine. This "Energy Discount Center" sounds like it is totally bogus and is phishing for information or are a for-profit middle man making illegal telemarketing calls.Never give your personal information (including utility account numbers) to anyone who cold calls you like this. Report each and every scam call to www.donotcall.gov.

Just filed a complaint. I encourage everyone to do so that reads messages here (donotcall.gov). This "company", or "entity" does not honor requests to STOP calling, and disregard the Do Not Call Registry. Quite frankly, the Do Not Call Registry is a joke anymore. Telemarketers don't seem to care! Maybe someday a politician will get behind it, and put an end to the nonsense happening via telephone(s)!!

Keeps calling I blocked them from my phone.

File a complaint at www.donotcall.gov THE MINUTE you read this, or visit this page!! Please?! If everyone who is pestered by this company files a complaint there, MAYBE the damn "Utility" scammers will be shut down. I've asked them to be taken off the list (by speaking with a representative, who always rudely hangs up), pressed 3 to be taken off the list, et. I don't know what else to do? This really ticks me off... in today's age we are now punished & harrassed for owning a telephone? Uggggh. PS - I am on the National, Do Not Call List (what a joke that is, right?). No tele-scammers seem to care about the Do Not Call List... they just ignore it!

got call two days ago and today from this number with an automated voice message saying they were commonwealth edison. didnt listen to any more of it....
