This is a debt collection agency. I believe they mainly deal with Payday loans if you are getting a call odds are they want money. They say they are First IRS legal dept however, I do not believe they are actually a part of the IRS simply a different accronym for their business.
I asked what the I.R.S. stood for when the call came in for my son and he claimed to be "With the legal dept of the Internal Recovery service" which means he is a debt collecter hiding behind a fake name to try to scare the consumer with the call.
Our son(who is under 18) received numerous calls(on his cell phone) from this number claiming to be an attorney's office. They wanted to know information on a case. I called the number back and demanded that they take his number off of their list. It's obviously a scam to extort information and money from unsuspecting teenagers.
This number called me at the ungodly hour of 6:45am. When I answered it all that came on the line was what sounded like a radio station or just music that I had never heard of before. I kept the call on speaker for 5 minutes and then I hung up. Nobody came to the line.
I received a phone call from this number claiming to be a law firm. Not only did they have an incorrect version of my name, but I have no idea why they would even be calling me. Sounds fishy.
I agree with everyone about this company. They have contacted me on Oct 7, 2009 about a debt i owed. The funny thing is I have never received any mail regarding this collection. So i have made 3 payments and still haven't got anything in the mail but conformation numbers. They are violating the laws because they are suppose to contact you with a letter five days after the initial phone call. I didn't get that yet. Also, they can't threaten to take you to jail, they violated that law as well. You can't go to jail for a debt. You know how full the jail house will be. LMAO! Anyway, I was getting ready to make another payment until I contact my attorney. I told them I will not be making another payment until I receive something in the mail.
