Caller said they were from FNBO and wanted to verify information about a credit increase/application. I hung up because I have not applied for any credit or credit line increases.

First National Bank of Omaha - You probably applied for a credit card and they need more information.

Are they fraud? I stupidly gave them information because I recently applied for a credit card and they made it seem legit that they needed more information. They told me I needed to go down to where I applied for my credit card at and fax them my social security card and id. I went to the place where I applied for my credit card at and they told me that, that was not true. Now I am freaking out that I am going to be a victim of identity theft. I keep trying to call them but it keeps say they're closed. Please let me know if you know about them because I am freaking out and I don't know what to do!

I just received a call from this # and they stated they identified themselves as being from First Bank. Although I did recently apply for a new credit card with "my" bank (Unionbanc), I was not comfortable verifying my personal information with them/FirstBank. And so told them so. They suggested I call back at the #800 so I could verify they were legit. I called back and the greeting was generic: "Thank you for calling Credit Services". I hung up.

Got a message on my phone, "This message is for Paul ***, this is First Bank, please call us back at 800-#." The person gave no reason for the call. As Sue had done, I recently applied for a new credit card. I called the number, they answered, "You have reached Card Services, if this is about a card you've applied for press 1, if this is about an existing account press two." There was no option to speak with customer services. Seems like a scam!

This is a legitimate call from the credit card underwriting department at the First National Bank of Omaha. They were calling to verify that I had actually applied for a card.

They called, said they were first national bank like everyone else has said. They told me they tried sending me a credit card but it got returned and wanted to verify my address. I told them I haven't applied for a credit card in well over a year and what was this credit card for? All she said was she didn't know who the credit card was with, even though she was claiming to call from the bank it supposedly coming from, but it said great falls (the town I live in) on it and she just wanted to verify the address to send it to. I told her again that i haven't applied for a credit card in over a year and great falls is the town I live in not a credit card so who are you with? And she hung up. I've had my identity stolen 2 times when I was in my teens and didn't find out until I turned 18 appling for a secured loan to start building credit. I flagged my social as soon as I found out and I have to get a call before anything can go through using my social, which I haven't received anything about a new card so I think they were fishing, whoever they are.

It legit. I applied for a credit card yesterday and they were calling to verify some of the information...and just to be sure it was me that had applied. They called on both of the numbers I had put on the application. I did not answer either call, but voicemails were left on both phones. I called them back.

This is a legit call. I applied for an NRA credit card a few days ago online after receiving an offer in the mail. However after some research this company also does credit cards for Overstock.com and several other companies. Anyway they said there was "a flag on my account" because I had reported a credit card stolen about a year ago (true!) and they just needed to ask me some questions to confirm my identity. In multiple choice form I had to supply the answer for the color of my car, my height (they said this info was from my drivers license) and conform the name of someone out of a list of three people. I actually did not recognize any of those names but at least I knew my height, ha ha. Anyway that was it, very professional. If you recently applied for a credit card it's OK to call them back. If you did not recently apply you better lock your bank accounts down because someone may be trying to apply for cards in you name.

I answered this one out of curiosity as I usually don't answer calls from numbers I don't know. Another annoying robocall. This time claiming to be calling from Medicare. Would give it zero stars if I could.
Because I didn't know who the caller was, I sent it to voicemail. The caller did not leave a message and hung up. I assumed it was another robo call and when I checked this site my assumption was confirmed.
