Called number, this is same group at 281-647-4156. It is a collection agency trying to get payoff. Best thing to do is have them provide an itemization to a neutral address - preferably P.O. Box.Also, have them provide details to you and do not commit or confirm. State that you will verify information and respond in writing. If you start to get hassled, inform them that you will file cease and desist on phone calls. Also, state that you will contact local carrier and FCC for harassing phone calls.

Msg to me was we have been trying to reach you to get a recorded statement on an investigation we are conducting.

CALL ONE TIME AND LEFT A VOICEMAIL SAYING: HELLO ---- THIS IS ***** CALL ME YOU KNOW THE NUMBER. THEN LEFT AN 800 NUMBER TO CALL. I RECEOGNIZED THE NUMBER AND DID NOT ANSWER. THEY WERE ASKING FOR MY HUSBAND. THEY DID NOT IDENTIFY THE COMPANY. SHE WAS JUST TRYING TO SOUND SEXY. SORRY DIDNT WORK. I CALLED THE NUMBER BACK NEXT DAY TO SEE HOW THEY ANSWER PHONE. THEY JUST SAY THIS IS WHOEVER ANSWERS AND THAT IS IT. IT WAS A MAN. I HUNG UP. WITHIN 5 MINUTES A CALL CAME IN FROM AN UNLISTED NUMBER. I DID NOT ANSWER IT. A VOICEMAIL WAS LEFT. THERE WAS A LADY SCREAMING INTO THE PHONE SAYING HOW DARE YOU HANG UP ON ME. THEN SHE WAS DEMANDING A RETURN PHONE CALL. I REPORTED THEM TO THE ATTORNEY GENERAL OFFICE AND THE FTC. ALSO WAS CALLING MY MOTHERS SHE WAS TELLING THEM THAT WE DO NOT LIVE THERE THEY HAD THE WRONG NUMBER. SHE TOLD MY MOTHER SHE WAS LYING.

They left a gruff message on voice mail. When I returned the call, they were collecting for DVDs that they said were not returned. Since the company filed bankruptcy, I asked who they were really collecting for. I was put on hold, then disconnected. Definitely a scam.
