I signed up with this newspaper back in like June, then in July, I moved. They called me about two weeks after I moved (I forgot to tell them I moved, but I prepaid for like 3 months of daily papers so I didn't think it mattered). Anyway, they asked me if I was still getting my papers, I said no, because I moved. They asked for my new address, and I said I'm not interested, I don't even read the newspaper. I told them I didn't need a refund, but I would not be renewing my subscription. They were nice about it and said that it was fine. About two or three weeks after that, they called again, asking the same thing. I explained the story all over again, they said they'd stop calling...then yesterday I got 3 calls from the same number, and today I got a call twice. I stopped answering numbers I don't know, I let them leave a message if it's important. This number never leaves messages, so I decided to Google it and now I remember exactly who they are. If they call again, I will ask to be removed from their list...yet AGAIN.

Like you folks, we have received countless telephone calls during the three months since we cancelled the El Paso (Texas) Times. When we answer the phone, there's no one there. There is no recorded message. I have filed several complaints since our phone is on the National Do Not Call List. When I called the same number back, the call was answered with "This is the El Paso Times, this is Rachel".I explained to Rachel that I was unhappy with all the phone calls. She explained to me that they have no control over how the computer decides whom to call, and when. She further explained that a lot of business is generated through these calls. She was very polite and agreed to remove our number from their system.

So, Teresa and Jeanne, I think we can agree that these are "Robo-calls". At least that's my take on it. So I will identify them as such on any subsequent complaint.

No, the "Do not call list" does not work for this company. I have consistantly on that list since the begining, and they still call several times a day. I just called them to take me off the list, we'll see what good that does!

received several phone calls from this number today. After reading the comments, I called them, spoke to a lady named Rachel who assures me that my number would be removed.

This is the agency used by the Denver Post soliciting you to buy their paper. They will call you at least twice a day. Never leave a voicemail. I called and asked them to remove my number. They were polite and said they would remove it.

I also spoke to rachael. She was very nice. Probably because I was nice to her to start off with!! Soliciting calls on a Sunday? Hmmmmm
