I was looking for work online and one of the ads had this number 3333333333 so I Google it and I come to realize it's a scam.
Just so everybody knows, there are programs out there that spoof numbers. You can change the number to whatever you want and make a call through your internet connection -- if you call the number back or report it, it's most likely an unconnected/disconnected number or leads to an unrelated person.These programs are regulated by law but it does next to nothing as tracking who exactly is behind the call is extremely difficult when both the number is fake and it's not made over a phone line, but an internet connection. Plenty of legitimate companies do outbound calling using these programs, but they will always call from the same number and will put you on DNC should you ask. These criminals will just continuously change the number and put you back in the feeder list.I'm getting calls because I needed a payday advance and I went through a bunch of shady websites filling out forms because I was desperate. I preemptively closed my bank account and opened a new one once I realized what I was getting myself into. I would suggest if you've done something similar, you do the same.
It's happening to me and I'm in california. They call me repeatedly and if I reject it, they just keep calling. I don't wanna answer because I don't want it to be someone in Timbuctwo and then I owe money for a long distance call lol.
They have been calling me. 7 times in the last 4 hours with all different numbers. 333-333-3333 was this morning. I live in Arkansas and i refuse to answer. How do i block these numbers?
