I called back and they actually do pick up and answer as "Investigative Services of the IRS". A man with an accent. Funny thing is you hear all these other people in background with accents probably making these calls. Someone should give them a taste of their own medicine and say "This is the FBI!"
They are probably making these calls from beyond US borders where FBI or IRS have no jurisdiction..Waste of time to call these slimeballs.
My husband got a phone call asking for me. He knew right away that it was the IRS Scam and asked what this was about. The woman responded "This is the IRS..." He interrupted her and said LOUDLY "This is the IRS SCAM BS?" She immediately hung up!!! LMAO!!!And yes, she's definitely from another country (somewhere Middle Eastern...)GO ROT IN HELL!!!
Man, that is the worst. I can picture myself being back in college, legally an adult but really still figuring out a lot about how the adult world works (to include tax filings). I can imagine if I'd gotten a call like this at that age, it would have really shaken me up as I would have 100% believed it to be genuine back then.I really wish I could meet these folks face to face. I'd be happy to do a little dental work on them, free of charge.
May-13-2015This guy left a voice-mail, he said he is IRS investigator and there is a warrant under my name. Blah blah... Total Scam!!!These people has no shame and should be arrested!!!
My experience is 99% the same today. The only difference is that I told the caller I can't afford a lawyer. Then she told me if I pay 4XXX dollars they will not report to the police and I will not go to the court.
All same. I figured out it was a fraud and hang up, but they remain calling and leaving voice mails for a month. I added all that numbers to black list, and next day I got call from CT where same male voice with accent. So they are definitely located outside the USA and just use fake phone addresses.

Most likely a scam. Didn't recognize caller ID so did not answer and it (robocaller?) left no message. Nuff said.

Got a voicemail left on my phone by this phone number. They said their name is Sharon, and to call them back at the number (888-662-1610.) Didn't say a company name or anything.
