Got a call from this number - said he was calling from Pioneer Credit. Name said "out of area"

Female called from this number asking for my husband...I told her he was not in and asked if I could take a message. She replied, "No, I'll try to reach him later." When I asked her who was calling, she stated she was calling to ask him for a "reference" on someone (whose name I was not familiar with). I told her she would have to call him after a certain time in the evening. Later when I told my husband about the call he said he didn't know anyone by that name.

they call me 5 times a day...and leave no message

Called both my cell phone (x2 today) and work number (x2 today). I talked to them the first time they called me at work. They called again 30 minutes later and asked a co-worker for the number to human resources so they could verify my employment. They called my cell from another number yesterday: 888-295-7865.

Called my work number. When I called the 800 number and asked for the person who called me, Sue Ellen, I was asked to provide my SSN. I refused. They asked if I am . I said I am one of 1,000's in the US, which one do they want. Response was an incorrect last 4 of SSN. I was transfered to Ryan, who did not want to give his last name. Finally, he said Smith. He requested SSN and asked if I am , to which I responded as above. He transferred by to Jeannie Satchel who claimed to be a supervisor and again asked if I am (see a pattern here?). When she again gave me the incorrect last 4 of SSN, she asked for the number I was called at so that she could remove me from the list.
