You're so right! I didn't realize it but itbis true! I began receiving these calls after I did a Kindle search!
Called me twice today. My daughter answered. She let them do their whole spiel, and then said "I'm only 14 and don't have any money." That cut the call short. It's good to waste their time.
I received a call from this number about ten minutes ago. My husband answered and said I wasn't available, the guy said he'd call back.
It is PIC I believe it is Facebook related as their recent security issue that shows all your friends phone numbers..I have had many many calls for online school & businesses from FB related issues...maybe block your cell numbers on FB..
I tried to answer and the robo call says: sorry you missed our representative, Call PIC at this number.#1 Robo calls are illegal.#2 They are disruptive.Try to get someone to say something. I interrupt the robocall by just interrupting the stream of the voice. Then a real person always gets on the line to answer...they try to make it sound as if they were really talking the entire time because these callers know that it is illegal to contact anyone by robocall. Ask for the name of the company and a phone number so you can call back if you get disconnected. If you get that far, ask for the name of the person with whom you are speaking. By law, they must answer your questions. Tell them to put you on their do not call list only after you have some information. You can sue them if they call you back.
I received a call from this number just after noon today, 7/1/10. My entire family lives in this area code (Pittsburgh), so I answered it, but only heard a murmur (male?) before the call was disconnected. Interesting reading the posts, thank you. I will ignore from now on. (I'm not even on Facebook, so I don't know how that might even be related?)
