I called these people and a woman named Robin Neely at phone number 412-622-7386 answered. She told me their dialer functions to quick and hangs up. That is BS. I answered on the second ring. I told her we are on the national do not call list and she told me that, as a charity, they are exempt from the do not call list. That is news to me! I advised her that further calls will result in a complaint to the FCC. She told me they will take me off their list, however I had to give her my phone number. I did so with great hesitation. I hope this helps the rest of you that are harassed by these people.
Thanks for the link. FYI--the National Do No Call Registry does not apply to charitable organizations. They can legally call you despite having your number on the list.
I just got this phone number two days ago and already I'm getting unsolicited, bothersome calls. HOW in the world do I make them STOP????
Public Interest Communications website says it has 175 calling centers which are used to solicit for numerous charities and others. To remove your phone number from their list for the Pittsburgh area, call 412-622-7386 or 412-622-7300.
Getting so sick of these calls. What makes them think I will answer if it says "Unknown Name"? If I don't know who's calling I sure as heck am not going to answer and If it's someone who needs to get a hold of me, they will leave a message.
I also got one, also while surfing for a Kindle. Didn't pick up after I saw the unfamiliar number on caller ID. How bizarre. What's Amazon up to? I've never associated them with this sort of practice.
They call every day. The number they call is my fax line, so it wouldn't do any good to pick up. Tonight I dialed them back and finally got through. Recording said you could leave info to be removed from their calling list. Problem was that each mailbox that I got bumped to was full or couldn't take the call and then I was disconnected.
