This is a legitimate phone number - Caremark/CVS Mail Order Prescription Service. You may not get your prescriptions from CVS, but Caremark/CVS could be your insurance prescription provider. I agree that they call too much giving you advice etc.
CVS COULD BE LEGIT......MAIL AWAY PHARMACY....... ACTUALLY SAVES YOU MONEY...... HOWEVER, CHECK HEALTH INSURANCE COMPANY IF IN FACT IT IS PART OF YOUR PLAN. YOU HAVE TO APPLY TO USE IT FIRST....CALL YOUR HEALTH INSURANCE CO. TO SET UP ACCOUNT.
It is a valid call. Since you use Caremark they may be letting you know about their 3-month program. I was getting my medicine (6 prescriptions/mth) at my local pharmacy for $85 per month. When I order it by mail I get 3 months for the same price and postage is free. Well worth taking that call. They only ask for a birth date to make sure they have the right party and you do have that insurance.
I called theCVS direct phone number and the woman that answered said that it was a call from them and they would stop calling if I asked them too. So I did.
It is from Caremark- the people who PAY YOUR CO PAY on your pharmacy insurance. It is to remind you that a medicine that is taken regularly hasn't been filled in awhile. I actually love this service I just wish their name would come up on the caller i.d. Have a Blessed Day!!!!
I also received an automated call from this number, I can't understand CVS calling me about a prescription - MY PRESCRIPTIONS DO NOT GO THROUGH CVS, I have never had a prescription with CVS. I think before accepting the call, you should check further.
CVS sucks in plain english. the GIC is trying to force us to use CVS Caremark. Customer service sucks, wait time is much too long. They once gave our grandson the wrong strength medication. Target has been very good to us especially when our son was going through cancer they were prompt and compassionate. If we are paying the premiums and co-pays we should be allowed to go to our pharmacy of choice and not allow big business to dictate to the GIC where we go to fill our prescriptions.
