Called my cell phone an asked tif my husband was home by his first name. When I said he was not home she proceeded to ask for a donation for breast cancer patients who can not afford medication.

Just called my cell asking to speak to the head of the household. I said they weren't home, and they said they'd call back later. I tried to tell the guy not to call back, but he hung up before I could. Came up on the caller ID as NEW CARE HOME.
Asked for me by first name. Said he was calling for National Police and Troopers Association. I hung up.
Came up a local number and "New Care Homes". Turns out was soliciting donations for a police-sounding charity.
Just got the call left answering machine take the call but didn't leave a message. These get blocked!
Scam! Caller identified himself as representing a police donation fund. Folks, any time you receive a call like this it is a scam, even ones that are 'legit' and are recognized as a 501(c)3 and show up on caller ID. these companies can keep 90% and only donate 10% which is allowable by law! If you want to donate to a fireman's fund or policeman's fund simply ask them to mail the info to the address they have on file for you and 99% of the time they say no and hang up. Donate to your local fire, recue and law enforcement agency directly. I am a retire law enforcement officer and active local FOP board member. These are scams to get your money and bank info.
