Got the call, in Las Vegas NV, Spoke in spanish, i was woke up and was pissed so i yelled back "English ONLY" they hung up....
My husband and I both received a call from this number on our cell phones just minutes apart. Neither of us answered the call. No message was left.
I live in Texas and received a call from this number. They left no voicemail, soo I'm assuming it must not be important.
I get this automated Spanish phone call on average about four to five times per month. The times at which they call vary greatly. Sometimes in the morning, sometimes afternoon, sometimes late evening. A few times in the early 2AM.My caller ID always says that it originates in Maryland, USA and the phone number is (443)937-8989. This has changed a few times and has in the past come from a different state and phone number. But the Spanish message is always the same.On occasion I can hear noises in the background on the callers end. A telephone ringing, voices too faint to distinguish, a cough, clicking noises from a noisy computer keyboard, the sound of a stapler stapling something.I'm not in debt or anything so I know for a fact it's not a debt collector. I even double checked my credit report just in case of identity theft or something. Nothing. Squeaky clean.
Just read thru all the messages, don't think it matters of where you live (me AZ) or phone service you use (me TMobile), we are all receiving the same message over a long time frame. This is the second one in the last two months that I have received. I have reported both to the do not call list ran by the government. Spanish speaking people must be getting these call also. They are not regristring complaints here and the gov has shut it down, so maybe it is a political or charity message which the gov would not shut down. Next time they call me, I am going to record it and get someone to translate it and get back to this group and the gov to what is being said. We English speaking speaking groups at least give them a option of pushing one for English and two for Spanish, so should they.
When "called back" the number is reported out of service. Obviously the ots respond is fake, or the caller is somehow altering the number we see when called. Clealy something dishonest is going on. My best guess is that it is some sort of automated system to find randomly generated live, working phone numbers (confirmed if you call back) related to some kind of marketing to Spanish speakers. This caller/number has been reported hundreds of times, yet the government can't/won't (?) take them down. Then again, maybe this website is a scam, too? What the f*** is up with that?
I get these calls from time to time. Just got one at 1:30pm cst. Didn't answer, looks like they're autodialing heavy again this week!
Oh and if it makes any difference, my phone number which is always receiving these Spanish calls is a Texas number. A 512 area code Austin, TX number to be exact. I noticed a few other posts here also mention they're from Texas. I currently don't live in Texas but still retain the number.
